Solventless Full Spectrum CBD Distillate

The best CBD Drops start with the best CBD flower. We only use premium flower that’s been hang-dried and slow-cured. Skip the sticks and stems, and avoid low-quality “biomass.” Forget about harsh solvents, like butane and propane. Our laboratory uses short-path (fractional) distillation to safely extract the full natural spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes from our organic and sustainably grown hemp flower.

CBD Hemp Tincture FAQs

CBD Tincture Benefits

The first question on your mind right now might be, will CBD oil get me high? Lucky Elk CBD Drops will not get you high. Our CBD oil is a full-spectrum product, which means that it contains a trace amount of THC (less than 0.3%) in addition to other cannabinoids, like CBD, CBG, CBDa, and CBN.

On its own, CBD is a non-impairing compound. Any CBD products you purchase online or at retailers like grocery and drug stores are required to contain less than 0.3% THC; that trace amount of THC will not result in detectable euphoric effects.

Full Effect with Full Spectrum

Taken together, the full-spectrum of cannabinoids can have tremendous benefits for your health. This is known as the “Entourage Effect.”

What is a tincture?

CBD can be administered in many forms, from smoking a cannabis strain that produces a lot of the molecule to consuming it in edibles. Among the most popular methods—especially for individuals trying a cannabis-based treatment for the first time—is through a tincture.

Tinctures are produced by steeping cannabis flowers or isolates in a high-proof grain alcohol, then applying low heat for a significant span of time. This allows the active compounds in cannabis to infuse into the neutral spirit, much of which is then boiled off. The result is a potent liquid that delivers the effects of the cannabinoid molecules without any smoking or other form of combustion. In the growing consumer market, producers will often add carrier oils and other complementary ingredients, such as MCT oil - which is a clean industry standard.

At Lucky Elk, our “tinctures” contain no ethanol whatsoever. That’s why we call them “CBD Drops” instead. The solvents have been completely removed from the CBD distillate—leaving behind only the plant’s full-spectrum of cannabinoids, along with a relatively small amount of natural terpenes and lipids. By mixing this potent brew with MCT oil, our laboratory partners dilute the overall percentage of THC to a non-psychoactive level—leaving our customers with a safe, legal, and highly effective method for self-care.

How to make a tincture?

Because a CBD tincture is concentrated, it’s designed to be taken in small doses. This is why most tinctures come with a built-in dropper that allows users to take small, carefully measured quantities.

Since the doses are relatively small, tinctures can be administered in a variety of ways. For patients looking to take their CBD with food, a dose of tincture can be mixed into a meal like soup or pasta. It can also be added easily to drinks like coffee and tea; an evening cup of chamomile paired with CBD tincture stands to be even more relaxing than usual.

Tinctures can also be taken sublingually, or by applying them underneath the tongue. Some research has found that this delivery method makes cannabinoids more easily and consistently available to the body than other oral alternatives.

CBD Quality Checklist

3rd-Party Lab Verification: When you are reviewing a company's lab screenings, first double-check there’s no more than 0.3 percent delta-9 THC. Unlike CBD, delta-9 THC is a psychoactive cannabinoid that makes users feel "high." By law, hemp-derived goods in the USA may not have more than 0.3 percent delta-9 THC.

After verifying your product is federally legal, take a peek at the other cannabinoids and terpenes in your CBD oil. Generally, the more secondary compounds there are, the better chance you'll experience a phenomenon known as the "entourage effect."

What are the Ingredients?

After reviewing a company's COA, take a peek at your CBD oil's ingredients list. In most cases, high-quality CBD oils should have a few easy-to-pronounce ingredients. In fact, all that manufacturers need to put in a high-quality CBD oil is hemp extract and a carrier oil to bind with fat-soluble cannabinoids.

As long as you could identify what is in your CBD oil, you should feel confident about making a purchase. However, if there are loads of weird-sounding ingredients, you probably don't want to put that product in your body.

Be aware of Artificial Flavoring!

While we are on the subject of ingredients, please be extra careful when researching flavored CBD oils. Since full-spectrum CBD oil tends to have a "grassy" taste, many companies mask their oil's aromatics with natural (or unnatural!) flavor additives.

High-quality CBD oils should only use food-safe essential oils or hemp-derived terpenes as flavor enhancers. Please be on the lookout for any unnecessary sweeteners, fillers, or preservatives in your CBD oil.
