How Does Bubble Hash Rating Work?

Bubble hash ratings are an informal system used by solventless hash makers and consumers to describe how refined and clean a resin is when heated. As a general rule, higher-rated hash contains purer trichome heads with less contaminating plant material, waxes, and residual debris.

Full Melt (6-Star)

Pure trichome heads that liquefy clean when dabbed, leaving little to no residue. Often sourced from select micron ranges (e.g., 73–159µ) and multiple washes. Connoisseur grade—best by dab.

High Melt (5-Star)

Dab-friendly with a touch of residue. Frequently pressed into premium live rosin. Great for low-temp dabs if you prefer a slightly more robust profile.

Mid Melt (≈4-Star)

Doesn’t melt fully; may include stalks and fine plant matter. Best sprinkled into bowls, rolled into joints, or used in infused pre rolls—not ideal for dabbing.

Low Melt (≈3-Star)

"The quality was great. Taste great. Effects great. From there, absolutely crap. I had a whole paragraph written but I can say this didn't even equal . 5 when all was said and done. By the pictures you can see, there was rosin everywhere but at the bottom of the jar. Threads, top, etc. I couldn't believe it. This is the 10th or so rosin I've ordered and the other 3 with it were perfectly fine. What's sad is that lucky elk always is on point and I tried staefli out of respect for lucky elks customer satisfaction and feel deeply disappointed and wish I'd gone with lucky elk products. Put an email in and still waiting to hear back. They've been great to me at any and all times so I trust their decision either way but I am really just trying to ensure this doesn't happen to someone else."

Pretty Solid!

"I like Staefli's strain options and the product quality is usually great, but the headline is actually ironic considering the Tallymon I ordered had the consistency of melted slightly soupy pudding 😅 The high and effects were accurate, but not as "potent" or as strong as I'm used to from Lucky Elk, and I'm not even that "high chaser" type; all 'bout the terpenes n' entourage effect for me. Since it was like a little puddle of rosin, it was a bit more difficult to consistently portion with my dab knife; either always too little or too much on the scoop. I figured its consistency and dampened terp effects may have been due to traveling to me through Tex heat. Regardless, I HIGHLY recommend Tallymon! It was a great experience, muted flavor but still tasty with a notable banana funk gas on the nose, but slightly sour nutty tang on dab and exhale. Always wanted to try this strain, and may well try it again in my upcoming order, this and another strain by Lucky Elk farms made me a big fan of tropical strains!"
